An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

How we protect your data

We work hard to maintain the safety of your data and hold ourselves to the strictest standards of data ethics.

Our policy is to collect no personal information about you, unless you affirmatively choose to make such information available to us. When you visit any of our website, the Web server automatically recognizes the Internet domain and IP address from which you accessed the site. This information does not result in the identification of your personal e-mail address or other personal information. If you choose to share personal information, such as by subscribing to the blog, sending a message, or filling out an electronic form with personal information, the information will be saved for a designated period of time in order to comply with the state of Florida’s archiving policies. However, information will not be disclosed to third parties or other government agencies, unless required by state or federal law. Please note that Florida’s public records law requires that all information received in connection with state business be made available to anyone upon request unless the information is subject to a specific statutory exemption.

If you have chosen to subscribe to our services and you are considered a minor under the age of 18, you will be asked for parental acknowledgment prior to receiving our services. In this case, we require you to share data or information with your parents when filling out the interest form. Your parent will receive a copy of your interest request and will need to sign a parental consent form.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If we have been advised that data has been breached we would assemble a team of experts to conduct a comprehensive breach response. This may include forensics, legal, information security, information technology, operations, human resources, communications, investor relations, and management depending on the nature of the breach.

What third parties we receive data from

We reserve the right to purchase data from third parties in order to market, promote and advertise. We may obtain 3rd-party data from mobile data (based on Mobile Advertising IDs) and desktop data (based on cookies). Some of our data providers allow for the creation of custom segments – target audiences tailored to specific audience segments for a particular event or campaign. In addition to server logs, we use Google Analytics (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en) and Jetpack Analytics (https://jetpack.com/support/privacy/) to track traffic statistics. You may read their privacy policies at the links provided.
